24-year-old Chassidy Rice from Ohio appeared on Say Yes To The Dress with her mom Harlene to look for the perfect dress for her special day.
Chassidy, however, dropped a bombshell on the show as she revealed to the consultant that her mom is also engaged.
The mother, who has no intention of overshadowing her daughter on the show, quickly reiterated that Chassidy is the star of the moment, but she's happy to share in the joy and try on plenty of dresses too.
You can bet Chassidy knows her mom inside and out as she faces the camera and admits that while she wants today to be all about her, she's certain her mom will love to look through the rack for a few dresses too.
The bride-to-be and star of the show revealed that she would love to purchase a $3,000 classic, vintage dress for her wedding which will hold seven months from the fitting.
Her mom is opting for something more flamboyant preferably a dress covered in sequins and jewels and she would love to try it on right there.
Chassidy eventually tried on a dress from the store and walked out to soft gasps and admiration from her bridesmaids but the most important person in the group was nowhere to be found.
The bride-to-be's mom had gone on her own little adventure and stepped out in a number that moved Chassidy and broke down in tears.
According to Chassidy, her mom showed up in the dress she just previously tried on.
The 24-year-old revealed her mom ruined a major moment for her and has successfully stolen the shine. Harlene then suggested taking the dress off as she felt like a villain following her daughter's reaction to her act.
Chassidy and Harlene came to the shop with a whole team, including her bridesmaids and her mom's friends, who were all smiles.
The bridal dress team finally got Chassidy to come around and get her fitted in a dress she actually loved.
The bride-to-be expressed her happiness about the dress and called it her choice.
“It is exactly what I want it to look like.”
This isn't the first or the last time brides get into arguments with their overbearing mothers who try to impose their choices on their kids or steal their shine like Harlene.
